This week, students participated in Diversity Drop Down Day, Year 13 student Millie continues her impressive work on a proposed Bill for Parliament, Year 12 explored osmosis in Biology, while Year 10 investigated starch reactions and examined onion cells under the microscope. Year 13 students are also currently working on their Graphics coursework, showcasing their creativity and design skills.

It’s been a week of learning, achievement, and inspiration!

Diversity Drop Down Day

On Monday, Ignite and Year 10 were taken off timetable for the day to participate in a drop down day. Several external agencies were invited in to educate our students around diversity.

Merseyside police spoke about LGBTQ+ and Diversity in young people and EFC delivered workshops around mental health and well-being.

Our students also sat in a performance by XO, a girl’s band who also educated them about diversity.

The feedback given to us by the students was that it was a really good day, very interesting, and students were asking when the companies are coming back in.

Sickness procedure

From a safeguarding perspective, students who indicate they are feeling unwell will not be sent out of class as an unwell/injured student unaided may faint on the stairs or corridor. Staff will call first aid and first aid will go to the student. Students should not contact home themselves when they are unwell; staff will call parents if needed.
