Visiting Spanish Students
Last week we said goodbye to our wonderful visitors from Vigo, Spain. It was two incredible weeks filled with learning, laughter, and lasting memories. This cultural exchange has given our students a true taste of Spanish life while building friendships that will endure well beyond the visit.
Our guests joined Year 10 lessons, took part in a vibrant Cultural Drop-Down Day, enjoyed a traditional Afternoon Tea, and explored creativity in our Innovation Labs, experiences that enriched everyone involved.
Reflecting on the programme, Miss Mallo said, “This exchange truly brings Spanish to life, boosting our students’ confidence, fluency, and enthusiasm for language learning.”

Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
Wren, in Year 13, has begun practical work for her EPQ, which is worth half an A level in terms of UCAS points, but also means that students are appealing to universities and employers because they have demonstrated interest and expertise in their chosen field.
Wren's EPQ is entitled "The Cargo Container Village" and builds upon ideas she had in a Business and Enterprise drop-down day to alleviate homelessness by building affordable housing in redundant shipping containers.

Sickness procedure
From a safeguarding perspective, students who indicate they are feeling unwell will not be sent out of class as an unwell/injured student unaided may faint on the stairs or corridor. Staff will call first aid and first aid will go to the student. Students should not contact home themselves when they are unwell; staff will call parents if needed.
