DRESS CODE

One of the questions we hear most often is what does business dress mean? To us, we would expect that you come to school in something that you would be comfortable to have a formal meeting with a business executive – basically dress for an interview and you will be spot on. A few guidelines below:

  • A skirt, dress or trouser suit suitable for a professional environment
  • No jeans, skinny jeans or wet look leggings. Leggings only to be worn underneath a dress
  • Tops/blouses/ shirts and ties suitable for a professional environment; low necked tops, t-shirts, vest tops and crop tops are not suitable
  • Words and diagrams on clothing should not be offensive or possibly be seen as offensive
  • Jumpers or cardigans should be plain; no hooded sweatshirts apart from in the fitness suite or during enrichment activities
  • Smart flat shoes or boots; trainers, open shoes and flip flops are not suitable
  • Hair and makeup should be of a style suitable for a professional environment; if hair is coloured it should be within the natural colour range
  • No facial piercings are allowed.
  • Outer coats and scarves to be removed whilst in the building.

Students travelling into the City Centre by train can get off at Lime Street Station or Liverpool Central Station and walk to Great Charlotte Street for our bus service.

BUILDING ACCESS

The main entrance to Liverpool Life Sciences UTC is located on Greenland Street, and we have wheelchair access throughout the school, with disabled toilet facilities on every floor.

Food

Breakfast - We run a free breakfast club for any students who wish to attend; cereal, bagels and hot drinks are provided.

Lunch - We ensure a broad and healthy lunch offering, providing high-quality, low-fat meals with fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Students can choose from sandwiches, fresh fruit, healthy tray bakes, and fruit juice to customise their lunch. We also offer hot, nutritionally balanced meals on a three-week menu cycle. While packed lunches are allowed, we request no fizzy drinks or sweets.

Sixth Form students are permitted to go off site during the lunch break.

PAYMENT

We use a cashless catering system. The value of any free school meal allowance will be loaded daily on to the students’ ID card and we provide cash loader machines to allow students to load cash on to their ID cards within the school building.
