We were delighted to welcome a group of students from Vigo, Spain, who spent the final two weeks of the first half-term learning alongside our students as part of an exciting international exchange programme.
Organised through our Language Hub, the visit provided a fantastic opportunity for students to experience a different education system, develop their language skills and build friendships across cultures.
Throughout their stay, the visiting students joined lessons, experienced our specialist learning environments and became part of our school communities. The exchange offered a valuable insight into life at our schools, while giving our own students the opportunity to connect with young people from another country and embrace new cultural experiences.
Guillermo said:
“Las clases son muy diferentes, he hecho amigos ingleses y nos han tratado muy bien.”
The lessons are very different. I have made English friends and everyone has treated us very well.
Martin shared:
“Las clases son muy calladas y ordenadas, hemos conocido a muchos amigos, nos han acogido muy bien y lo repetiríamos una y mil veces más.”
The lessons are very quiet and orderly. We have made lots of friends, we have been made to feel very welcome and we would do it all over again a thousand times!
For Yolanda, the visiting group's teacher, this was her second time bringing exchange students to Liverpool Life Sciences UTC. Having accompanied groups to several schools across the UK, she was particularly impressed by the experience and the opportunities available to students at the CUC. Yolanda shared:
“Llevo realizando esta experiencia, siendo monitora de grupos de estudiantes de intercambio, en muchos institutos de Reino Unido, y debo decir que UTC siempre ha marcado la diferencia. Esta es mi segunda vez en Lifesciences y siempre nos han tratado muy bien y todos los alumnos terminan esta experiencia encantados. Miss Mallo siempre está pendiente de que nuestra estancia aquí sea fabulosa y todo el equipo docente nos hace sentir bienvenidos. Siempre estaremos muy agradecidos.”
"I have been taking part in this experience as a supervisor of exchange student groups at many schools across the UK, and I have to say that the UTC has always stood out. This is my second time at Life Sciences and we have always been treated very well. All the students finish the experience delighted with their time here.
Miss Mallo is always making sure that our stay is wonderful, and the entire teaching team makes us feel welcome. We will always be very grateful."
